Anybus Modbus to BACnet Gateway

The Anybus Modbus to BACnet gateway allows Modbus slave devices to communicate on a BACnet network. The gateway works as a translator between the two networks allowing both Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP signals show up as individual BACnet objects on any BACnet/IP or BACnet MS/TP network. This enables central control and supervision of Modbus devices from a BACnet BMS in a building.


With its BTL certification, it enables central control and supervision of Modbus devices in BACnet networks within Building Automation and HVAC industry (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning). Thanks to the variable number of supported datapoints ranging from 100 to 3,000 signals, this gateway covers all applications from small installations up to very large networks.


With the Anybus Configuration Manager MAPS tool you can easily configure and commission the gateway. It can also be used for signal processing (e.g. transform a Modbus temperature signal in degrees Celsius into a BACnet signal in degrees Fahrenheit), datalogging over USB and troubleshooting. With the integrated signal viewer you can see at any time all the BACnet and Modbus values, and force a change if wanted. Configuration data, e.g. a list of Modbus registers, can be automatically imported from Excel.
